French electronic artist Léna commissioned us to design an album cover and packaging for her new electro-dub-funk offering, Lane.
In the search for the right visual solution we came across an amazing photograph owned by National Geographic. The photograph was taken decades ago on an expedition through Papa New Guinea. We were able to make contact with the photographer and obtain the rights to use it on the cover. The CD and album cover is filled with obscure satellite images, documenting the flow of rivers that run through the forests of Papa New Guinea.
The circular device is a recurring theme that links all the various elements of the project it also echoes the physical format of the LP and the CD.
In collaboration with Marc Kremers and Michael Van Straaten.
